ONE NUMBER FOR ONE GAME PROFILE

Find, reverse or compare an eDPI setup.

Choose what you want to calculate, enter the two known values and get the third instantly. Keep comparisons inside the same game because sensitivity scales differ between games.

Common DPI

Separate X/Y fields are useful for games that allow different horizontal and vertical sensitivity.

All calculations stay in your browser.

PROFILE B

Compare another setup

Use the same game's sensitivity scale. eDPI numbers from different games are not directly comparable.

DIRECT ANSWER

How do you calculate eDPI?

Multiply mouse DPI by the in-game sensitivity: eDPI = DPI × sensitivity. For example, 800 DPI at 0.35 sensitivity equals 280 eDPI. To keep 280 eDPI at 1600 DPI, use 0.175 sensitivity. This preserves the same numeric effective sensitivity only when the game and its input settings stay the same.

MORE THAN ONE-WAY MULTIPLICATION

Built for real sensitivity changes

The workbench covers the useful calculations people make when switching DPI, checking a second profile or using separate horizontal and vertical values.

Three calculation modes

Calculate eDPI, solve the sensitivity for a target eDPI, or solve the DPI from a known sensitivity.

Separate X and Y values

Add an optional vertical value for games that allow horizontal and vertical sensitivity to differ.

Side-by-side profile check

Compare a second DPI and sensitivity pair and see the percentage difference without sending settings anywhere.

Game-aware boundary

A clear reminder prevents a Valorant number from being treated as equivalent to the same number in CS2 or another game.

USING THE RESULT

What eDPI can—and cannot—tell you

eDPI is a convenient profile number. It is most useful for comparing setups inside one game, not as a complete physical mouse-distance measurement.

01

DPI

The mouse setting commonly used to describe counts per inch of physical movement. Use the value selected in your mouse software or hardware.

02

In-game sensitivity

The multiplier applied by the game. Each game can use a different scale, which is why equal eDPI numbers across different games may not feel equal.

03

Effective DPI

DPI multiplied by the in-game sensitivity. Two setups with the same eDPI in the same game should have the same numeric sensitivity before other settings are considered.

04

X/Y profile

Some games provide separate horizontal and vertical sensitivity. Calculate both axes instead of averaging them into a misleading single number.

IMPORTANT LIMIT

eDPI is not a universal cross-game converter

The eDPI formula does not include a game's yaw value, field of view, acceleration, Windows pointer processing or zoom multipliers. That means eDPI alone cannot accurately convert sensitivity between different games or produce a trustworthy cm/360 value. Use the calculator to compare profiles within the same game and verify the feel in that game's practice area.

COMMON QUESTIONS

eDPI calculator: common questions

Straight answers about the formula, DPI differences, Valorant and CS2, X/Y sensitivity, Windows settings and cm/360.

What is eDPI?

eDPI means effective DPI. It combines mouse DPI and a game's sensitivity into one number: DPI × in-game sensitivity.

How do I calculate my eDPI?

Enter the DPI set on your mouse and the sensitivity shown in the game. At 800 DPI and 0.35 sensitivity, the calculation is 800 × 0.35 = 280 eDPI.

How do I keep the same eDPI after changing DPI?

Choose Find sensitivity, enter the new DPI and your target eDPI. For example, 280 eDPI at 1600 DPI requires 0.175 sensitivity.

Is eDPI the same in Valorant and CS2?

No. Their sensitivity scales are different, so the same eDPI number does not guarantee the same physical mouse distance. Compare eDPI only within the same game.

What is the difference between DPI and eDPI?

DPI is a mouse setting. eDPI combines that setting with the game's sensitivity, making it easier to compare two setups in the same game.

What is a good eDPI for Valorant or CS2?

There is no universal best value. Desk space, grip, aiming style and comfort differ. Use a value you can control, then change it gradually and test consistently.

Does Windows mouse sensitivity affect eDPI?

It is not part of the basic DPI × game-sensitivity formula. Some games use raw input while others or desktop applications may be affected by operating-system pointer settings, so keep those settings consistent when comparing.

Can I convert eDPI to cm/360?

Not from eDPI alone. Accurate cm/360 also needs the specific game's input scale or yaw and any relevant multipliers. A simple eDPI-only conversion would be misleading.
