How is HSC GPA calculated in Bangladesh?
Add the grade points of the compulsory subjects. For the fourth subject, add only the grade points above 2.00. Divide the total by the number of compulsory subjects and cap the result at 5.00. An F in a compulsory subject fails the result; an F in the optional subject adds no bonus but does not fail the whole result.

HSC marks, grade and grade point
The same percentage bands apply to 100-mark and combined 200-mark subjects. For a 200-mark subject, A+ starts at 160 and passing starts at 66.

Bangla uses codes 101 + 102, English 107 + 108 and ICT 275. Science commonly includes Physics 174 + 175, Chemistry 176 + 177, Biology 178 + 179 and Higher Mathematics 265 + 266. Business Studies and Humanities combinations can differ by college, so the calculator lets you replace group subjects before selecting the fourth subject.

How do I calculate HSC GPA with the fourth subject?
Add all compulsory-subject grade points. Subtract 2.00 from the fourth-subject grade point and add only a positive remainder. Divide by the number of compulsory subjects and cap the final GPA at 5.00.
How do I calculate HSC GPA without the fourth subject?
Add only the compulsory-subject grade points and divide by the number of compulsory subjects. The calculator displays this core GPA separately before adding any optional bonus.
Does an F in the fourth subject fail the HSC result?
No. An F in the optional fourth subject gives no bonus but does not by itself fail the full result. An F in any compulsory subject makes the result failed.
Can I calculate HSC GPA from marks?
Yes. Enter the combined total out of 200 for two-paper subjects and marks out of 100 for ICT. The calculator converts each percentage to its letter grade and grade point.
Are Bangla and English papers calculated separately?
This calculator uses one combined result out of 200 for Bangla and one for English. In grade mode, choose the final combined letter grade printed on the marksheet.
Can Science, Commerce and Humanities students use it?
Yes. Choose Science, Business Studies or Humanities, then select the four group subjects on your marksheet and mark the correct fourth subject.
What is the difference between GPA 5 and Golden A+?
A final GPA of 5.00 can be reached after adding the optional-subject bonus. Golden A+ commonly means A+ in every compulsory subject without depending on that bonus.
Is this an official HSC result?
No. It calculates GPA from the values you enter. Verify the published result and transcript through the official Bangladesh Education Board result portal.
Are my HSC marks stored?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and the entered marks are not uploaded to BanglaTools.
