How does the IPU CGPA calculator work?
IPU SGPA and CGPA are credit-weighted. Each course grade point is multiplied by its credits; the total credit points are divided by the total included credits. The official equivalent percentage is CGPA × 10.

How is CGPA calculated in IPU?
Multiply every course grade point by its credits, add the credit points, and divide by the total included credits. IPU reports both SGPA and CGPA to two decimal places.
How do I calculate IPU CGPA from semester SGPAs?
Enter each semester SGPA with that semester's total credits. The calculator uses a credit-weighted average, so a semester with more credits contributes more than a lighter semester.
What is the IPU CGPA to percentage formula?
GGSIPU Ordinance 11 states that CGPA × 10 is the equivalent percentage. For example, an 8.20 CGPA is equivalent to 82.00%.
Can I use marks instead of letter grades?
Yes. Choose Marks and enter each score out of 100. The calculator converts it with the IPU bands, then weights the resulting grade point by course credits.
How is SGPA calculated in IPU?
SGPA is the sum of course credit × grade point divided by the sum of course credits for that semester. Audit papers are not included under Ordinance 11.
What grade point is 75 marks in GGSIPU?
Under the Ordinance 11 table, 75–89 marks receive A+ with a grade point of 9. The exact boundary matters, so 74 marks receives A with 8 points.
How much CGPA is needed for First Division in IPU?
Ordinance 11 places an overall CGPA of 6.50 or above in First Division, subject to the programme's minimum CGPA and other award requirements.
How can I plan a target IPU CGPA?
Open Course grades, enter your completed credits and current CGPA, set a target, then add the next semester's expected credits and results. The result panel shows the SGPA required across those new credits.
Does an F grade count in the calculation?
An F carries zero grade points. Official treatment can also depend on later retakes and the programme rules, so use the credits and final grades shown on your current official record.
Is this the official IPU result?
No. It is a private, browser-based estimate using the published formula and grading table. Your GGSIPU marksheet, transcript and applicable programme rules remain final.
